Chapter Five: Page 13

This particular sequence is one of my favourites. I like dark moody skylines and backgrounds like this. This actually forms a core part of the original book and Reva has done a great job of showcasing Jakul's past and what Hestonia was like pre-Church. Of course you'll have to wait to see, for that.

kaiya even! Reva says hello as well, she'd have replied in the thread but we've only just come back from the Hospital where she had to have a deeply rooted Wisdom Tooth removed in a painful operation.

Nicely drawn.

Dark, moody skylines are great! I'm new to this comic, but I recently finished your archive and its really fantastic.

amanda: thanks hon! Warped: cheers for stopping by!

Crimson: thanks! kyupol: Reva did a wicked job on this. repo: yep, nice and moody. Midge: She doesn't need tools of that nature to craft her greatest works yet. Adam: thanks man! Zeph: Thank you :) khard12: You're not the first person that's said that of Hestonia :) trevora: A good question. In this case I had written short stories using a map I had drawn beforehand, then I wrote two books using the same world after adding more to the map and making more rough maps as I went along. So most of it was mapped well in advance, I still refine the maps though and in the case of the comic now...there are bits that show up in the comic I never did put in the books.

Great work! Looks awesome.
trevoramueller at 12:23PM, June 29, 2009
Question for you buddy: when crafting your story, do you find yourself mapping out the world that your characters live in, or do you just have it in your head?
khard12 at 10:44AM, June 29, 2009
Awesome landscape! Not sure I'd vacation there, but I'd watch a documentary on it.
Adam Black at 8:54AM, June 29, 2009
You guys do a great job creating a mood.

love the landscapes. no woodworking tools to be found. maybe they will magically appear. ;)
repoman at 7:37AM, June 29, 2009
Great page. I get a real sense of foreboding.
kyupol at 6:31AM, June 29, 2009
nice landscape art.

ipokino: She's very good at getting things from my writing, or just picking stuff up out of my head on some days.
ipokino at 2:54AM, June 29, 2009
It is nice you have a great working parntership with Reva...when it comes to creative work, the wife and I cannot get it together...ha ha!

DAJB: At least ours don't have the heroes traipsing over them, in a very Peter Jackson LotR manner. On that subject, if people haven't yet checked out Shades - go do it...it's awesome.
DAJB at 1:05AM, June 29, 2009
Hey, "snap!" Seems today's comics are all about fantasy landscapes! ;-)
