Issue 6 Page 52 The END
JustNoPoint on June 1, 2009
Whoa… this it it! The longest prologue ever has finally came to an end!!! @_@
Two and a half years in the making. Man I didn't expect it to take so long heh. I don't really know what to say here. This feels a bit weird. I've been waiting to finish this up for SO LONG!
Now you'll really want to keep an eye on my DL Abridged, the Download CBR, and the cast pages. I'll be able to focus more on those to catch them up.
The CBR link will have cbr versions of the comics that you can download to your PC and PDF files. I may throw in some PSD files so you can see how I put some pages together.
Now to mention loose ends that were NOT tied up in the Prologue.
In issue 1.0 Power Grand tells Cutter Grand that it was the humans that sent the Preds the location of the underground base. Nothing was mentioned of this again.
Issue 1.5: Practically this whole issue. What happened to the peace talks with Robert Siegfried? Who were the 3 people that stole files and destroyed Eden? And what happened to Kevin? He never appeared in issue 3 even after Project Warrioress and Upgrade One were killed.
What was the War of Power about?
What happened to Jessica Fay Zeq and Sona Flourint Hess from Atlantis? Or Vedrick Von Col for that matter?
And other things like where is Den? What is the deal with GIA? Eve in general.
Let me know any loose ends I may have missed. I could have forgotten to mention them or I may not have even noticed I created one. In fact, give me feedback in general.
What was your favorite issue? Least favorite? What do I need to improve on the most in story writing, layouts, art, etc. What do you WANT to see? Not saying you will always get what you want but this is the time to gauge me.
The Prologue was fun and very annoying at the same time. The thing I loved/hated the most is that it never slowed down. The whole story was supposed to be a bubble gum story. A ride from point A to point B with little time to really get to know any characters. All that important stuff was to be shown in much greater detail in the next story.
But I couldn't keep to that idea. I revealed a lot more of Fenny and Sally than I intended. I wasn't going to explain Sally's condition, nor reveal Fenny's inner child struggle. There is still a LOT to reveal about the two though. The prologue is the only story that I made up in the late 90s as a teen that I didn't want to totally revamp. It was a self servicing nostalgia trip to retell such a off the wall story. I upgraded it just enough to make sense. But the spirit still remains intact. The 16 year old in me is finally happy and can rest in peace :3
The main thing I learned about the online comic medium that I will take with myself as I rescript the new story is the time it takes to make an issue complete. I will try much much harder to make each issue it's on story. I tried it here but this alien story felt too much like a run on story since there was barely any breaks at all. The best single story issue was issue 4 which happens to be one of my favorites as well.
Thank you all for supporting me. I didn't expect to garner an audience. I sure didn't think I would ever be in the top 10 on Drunk Duck. When I return I guarantee I will be good enough to finally be featured. But I have a tough road ahead. I have to improve so much. The next stories are much more daunting in my view than this one. And the issues are more serious at times. So I have to be able to back that up with better writing and art.
Again thank you for reading The Devon Legacy Prologue. I really hoped you enjoyed the roller coaster ride. And I look forward to seeing you browse on over to “The Devon Legacy” once that comic starts up. I'll be posting all the covers I received on the next update days. I'll probably throw some character design sketches to give you a glimpse of what's in store. And when “the Devon Legacy” starts updating I'll update here to tell everyone as well.
The Legacy begins next year! I'll reply on this page since there are no more “legit” updates. So if you give feedback please look back for replies. *passes out

Tantz Aerine: Yup, I have to say I am very VERY happy I am finished! Can't wait to see your cover :3 I hope you are able to finish your comic in a timely manner and feel just as accomplished!!! khard12: That's kind of her theme... even though she has Sally and the Deans she feels a lone a lot :( Aghammer: I'll let you guys know as soon as I start updating again! momtothemax: I'm glad to hear that. Would have been a lot to show in flashback had I skipped the prologue like I intended at one point. jgib99: Thank you! I've had your comic faved for some time now. With my free time I'll have I can finally read through it all! drakanor_dream: As long as it doesn't injure my drawing hand I see torture being a very good motivator. I have 6 months to come back with much more awesome art! I better deliver!!! Peipei: It's been a while since we got to say that for Sally! I think she deserved a happy ending after the crap I put her through this prologue ^^
Peipei at 3:54AM, June 3, 2009
Awwww ^^ That's too sweet :3.
drakanor_dream at 11:55PM, June 2, 2009
6 months... can I use torture to make you get issue 1 started faster?
jgib99 at 9:25PM, June 2, 2009
Congrats. This was an amazing story and brilliant artwork. It was a pleasure to read this comic. Its going to be a long six months to wait for The Legacy to begin.
momtothemax at 2:49PM, June 2, 2009
It was long but worthit
Aghammer at 1:59PM, June 2, 2009
Sally's home!! Awesome page and congrats... such wonderful work. I agree with everyone, you should be proud! Don't be too long getting back to us!! If you have a website, etc. where I can watch for updates, please let me know.
khard12 at 11:08AM, June 2, 2009
Congrats on finishing the longest prologue I have ever seen! Poor Fenny looks very lonely on that rooftop.
Tantz_Aerine at 10:28AM, June 2, 2009
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! *confetti* this is SUCH AN ACCOMPLISHMENT! you must be very proud of it, and preen the entire year! And what a feat of development both artistically and story wise. You have a lot to be happy for with this! Here's tome ending my comic too, hopefully this summer. XD Your cover's got priority now. XD
JustNoPoint at 9:53AM, June 2, 2009
trevoramueller: Of course I will be keeping in touch and reading comics. And fan art will be another good way for me to practice so you can bet I'll be making it.
trevoramueller at 9:43AM, June 2, 2009
Congrats on finishing the story - and I agree, this is one long prologue. However, it makes me curious and anxious for the actual story that you have planned. Next year, you say...? Such a long time to wait, but I'll keep you faved and keep in touch - which will keep in the loop about updates and whatnot. And what about fan art in the meantime?
JustNoPoint at 9:19AM, June 2, 2009
Oh and Patrick, take as long as you need on the "condensed". No rushes. I look forward to seeing more!!!
JustNoPoint at 9:16AM, June 2, 2009
cyberdog: For a while I was wondering if it would ever end as well :P ttyler: You've already done more than I could ever dream! I know you'll continue with great works! albone: And to think you was all upset at Sally getting violently killed pages back. XD Everything worked out in the end though :3 I won't work on it till next year. I will be busy attempting to improve the rest of this year. DevilLad: She's running (scurrying) across the floor with arms wide open patrickdevine: Quite a few things are off. I used a different method to work on solidifying the figures but I still have to work some kinks out of it. Many of the images I can't really tell what is "off" on them until I actually start coloring them. The worst is dad's torso in panel 2. After the page was finished I finally figured out that was what made him look so funny. I've got a ways to go till I can get the whole "solid figure +proportions" thing right. I'm still trying to relate more of that -the body is so many heads- the arm is so many heads- the length of the forearm is about the length of the foot, etc I will be doing a lot of comparing to get proportions down before I come back. I don't want Sally changing sizes next story XD Sally did say in issue 5 that she watched her family return home from the Grand's ship before she actually started looking for Fenny. As for Fenny, she can't just park that shuttle in the parking lot :P She dropped Sally off before she went to hide the shuttle. She's all mopey for various reasons. Since it will be a while till you see those reasons I'll go ahead and tell them. Different reasons kinda... some are real, some are what Fenny is telling herself. She really thought Sally died for a moment. Fenny isn't one to fail. She was going to surrender. She lost her friend. She did everything she could to stop the Preds but didn't really have any impact in the story at all. So she's reclusing back into the quiet little Fenny you saw earlier this issue. Fenny is supposed to be perfect at everything. And she couldn't do anything at all here. Constantly having to get saved by the Cyros and at times even Sally. Basically her ego is in emo mode. She's so full of herself that things like this really bother her. So yep, she's depressed because she almost lost her best friend (the week has been really hectic for her you know, she finally has time to think about what has happened) and she's fighting her younger instincts to sulk and be timid. Again, more will make sense later after you really get to see more about Fenny's life growing up. You know how those pretty popular girls are drama queens and all that =p waff: Thanks! Hope you enjoyed it all.
waff at 9:01AM, June 2, 2009
hmmmmmm....hmmmmm...hmmmmmm....awesome.
patrickdevine at 8:39AM, June 2, 2009
The applause! It's deafening! Sally's family is all right after all, how 'bout that? So why's Fenny brooding on the top of a skyscraper instead of tearfully reuniting with the Deans? I mean she's fairly close with them, yeah? I'm with DAJB, that does look like a Batman shot. She should wear the Cryo-blanket as a cape with her space armor and fight crime! *cue Batman Animated Series music* To nitpick a little does Sally's right arm look a little too long in the second panel? The forearm looks like it might be a bit skinny too. I get that Sally is supposed to be really thin (hell, you can count her ribs from across the room,) but she's got *some* meat on her bones. I'm still working on that Condensed Prologue, it might be a while 'til I'm done though.
DevilLad at 8:38AM, June 2, 2009
sally is walking wierd in the first panel xD
albone at 7:42AM, June 2, 2009
Great job! Feels good to have a completed project, eh? Nice closure here too, I can't wait for Devon Legacy to return. Next year? Are you working on it now to make a buffer, or are you starting it next year?
ttyler at 7:36AM, June 2, 2009
Wow....I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the creation and thought process for legacy. i admire your dedication to your vision. I can only hope that I can hang in there and run the race, like you have. I am sure we will all be here waiting for your next storyline to begin.
