There is a lot of opinion in favor of the "Land Bridge," but evidence isn't great in favor of it. Anthropology and Archaeology is fascinating. Like anything else there is politicking involved. The evidence point equally to the possibility of an older migration done by Island Hopping in canoes as early as 40,000 years ago. Why then? There is evidence of man arriving in Australia then (though arguments say it could be much earlier it isn't proven) and you could reach America the same way. A lot of this evidence is controversial though. Whichever way it happened, there were no people here before then so they can be considered Native.

The fact that my main characters are all immigrants is to reflect that ALL Americans are descended from immigrants. Some would say the Native American Indian is the exception, but some say even they came over from mongolia across the bering straight that once connected Asia to Alaska.
