@ ghostrunner Originally the practitioners of Martial Arts would never wash their belts. They would get darker from age so you could tell how long someone studied the art by looking at their belt. According to Master Sugita, who studied Aikido at a traditional monastery, the colors today are meant to reflect that. It's why they range from light to dark with black being the highest rank is most disciplines. Of course none of them approach T'Sin Wahg Lo. ;)
