This generally happens in pokemon games, or in crono trigger. I KNOW there's others, I just can't remember.

I always though it was weird that no one knew your name for the games. It just doesn't make any sense. Also a grandfather forgetting his grandsons name in a town of only 3 buildings! (pokemon red/blue/yellow)
