When Laskar gets serious, he gets a little crazy. That ‘song’ of his is something like his howling put into recognizable words, so they don't necessarily make any sense. The ‘song’ serves multiple purposes: it unnerves enemies; it makes it hard for spellcasters to concentrate (it has some kind of a catchy rhythm to it); it also psyches himself into a sort of frenzy, causing his appetite (and viciousness) to build up. This usually culminates with him completely devouring his enemy, bones and all.

Laskar's just misunderstood, really.
