'Kay, this chapter is drawing to a close (next page is last in chapter). What did Kimber Lee just sense? And yeah, ‘Orangey’ is a not real word, but it works :) . Thanks for reading, everyone
Thanks a bunch Peipei :) yeah, we want everything to fall into place for our heroes, but the story must be told. Answers (and more questions) will come, eventually... :)
Thanks Banes! Yeah, Synesthesia is very fascinating. Apparently an abnormal number of Artist and Inventors suffer (benefit?) from the condition. Wikipedia actually has a pretty good article on it - check it out, folks, if your interests is perked :)
I've heard of this...the first version I heard of was the type where people can 'taste' words. Fascinating stuff...and great page...i'm dying to know what Kim's detected!!
Yah, our human memory seems to work better when we use imagery - I took some 'memory classes' that used that concept... Synesthesia is a real phenomenon - there are people that hear bells when sensing the color red. What Kimber Lee can do (it's manifested in earlier parts of this story here and there) isn't exactly Synesthesia, but rater inspired by it. First, hers in controlled (to a level). Second, she can sort of 'enhance' her vision in the sense of making things 'stand out' (light up, glow...). Sort of her own mental HUD. The whole idea I really got from a beta-version Werewolf computer game where, when you turned into a wolf, you could see and follow odor trails (the only way a computer game could do smell, but I thought the idea would work fantastically if done literally, plus works well for a visual medium like a web comic). Anyway... Loonng post! Sorry...

Very awesome page. I love how she is still contemplating whether or not this is reality or a dream. I hope she finds answers for herself soon.

Synesthesia. Had to look it up. When in school, I used to try to imagine names, places or phrases in certain color for test recall purposes.
