If I ever redo the beginning of this comic, I'll spend some time depicting the beginnings of the Dream Experiments Kimber Lee went through, the first time she experienced dreams so life-like that they have to teach techniques to know the difference when one is dreaming or awake (see the Movie Inception). Maybe spend a bit more time showing Kimber Lee first experiencing the ability to do Superhuman Physical Feats while dreaming (much like the Computer Simulations in the Matrix). Being able to do such feats is what Kimber Lee used to ‘know’ when she's dreaming.
.
At this point in the story, she'd already undergone many of the Dream Sessions, and had been Lucid Dreaming on her own (with the same intensity as the Induced Dreams) for quite some time. Point is, she's used to being able to do amazing things, so if she seems a little nonchalant about it on occasion, that's why (I got a PQ about it, and the fact I have to expain it here indicates that I should have spent more time in the beginning of the story laying the foundation, but I'm over 100 pages into the story, so a redo will have to wait).
.
Anyway, Kimber Lee is starting to believe she's no longer dreaming, even though she can still do law-breaking physical acts. If a dangerous turn for her. If she is dreaming still, then she's dismissed the one rule that can prove she is. If she's not… the what's happening to her could have world-shattering implications.
.
If it's a bit maddening, well, that's sort of the nature of these types of stories (see Total Recall, Mulholland Drive, Vertigo, Paprika, and of course, Inception). How would you know you're dreaming? If you think you have a good answer, I'd love to hear it… Really I would - that stuff is fascinating to me.
