The stress of getting kidnapped, beaten and shot, escaping, seeing your spouse getting seduced (with points that hit home a bit), and finally, a stranger trying to convince you it's all a dream just when you'd done the mentally wrenching act of convincing yourself it wasn't…
.
The stress may be getting to Kimber Lee.
.
Artwise, this is the last page I got for ‘uber-loose’ look for a while. Just wasn't satisfied with the results (esp. the grass on this page), so I try a few more things in the coming pages.
.
Speaking of coming pages, it's about to get heavy!
.
Thanks for reading, everyone :)

She's certainly got some explaining to do now!

Oh deer, I wonder what the repercussions for the family seeing her like this will be. Also, I think those boys can learn a thing or two about good old hand-to-hand combat from mama. :)

Thanks Paul :)

I said it before, and I still think there's nothing wrong with the pacing - quite the contrary. This is a delightfully complex story, and it wouldn't do at all to rush it.

Good enough for me - Thanks :)

I don't think the pace is off. The weird thing about webcomics is that things are revealed over the course of months or years...but I never lose track in your comic. It's always clear what kind of conflict is going on. I don't imagine the larger "dream" plot will be answered for quite awhile, and that's okay methinks. :)

@PaulEberhartd: Indeed! Panel 3 is a classic example of the logic fallacy "Affirmative Conclusion from a Negative Premise" (in this case sort of the mirror of that, but the same thought path... or lack thereof haha). And parenting examples: "it's a tough world out there, son; sometimes you have to take life by the horns...or neck... err, nevermind..." :)

Thanks Banes :) I guess Kimber Lee really doesn't know her own strength. I do have a definite plan and direction for the dream/not-dream theme running through this. With this being my first ever web-comic, the one-page-every-few-days process makes me wonder if my pacing is off for revealing things (130+ pages in and we're still largely in discovery mode), but then, I wanted the story to be as much about personal introspection (while dealing with something phenomenal) as it is about philosophical and sci-fi concepts... So, there we go. I appreciate your (and everyone's) support :)

Great job on her choking expression in panel 1! The stress is definitely getting to Kimber Lee - her logic sounds as weird as that of a 19th century philosopher (or something): dream persons are liars, so if I dream of someone telling me I'm dreaming I must be awake. ;) At any rate she's setting a fine example for her son. xD

There's definitely a sense that things are about to get pretty heavy...damn, this is fascinating stuff! What's the overall dream/not-dream plot all about??? And more immediately what will this reunion be like??? WE MUST KNOW! WE MUS- oh...I guess we're going to find out! I love that second panel where she lifts the woman right off the ground. XD
