I had the hardest time thinking of a way a man and two kids could plausibly get away from someone who might be ‘secretly’ following and watching them. I bet I came up with a least a dozen different ways (that didn't involve super hightech, mini-submarines, etc.) and each one found giant holes in. I've never had to escape being followed (in a serious way haha), so I don't know how workable this plan I did use is.
.
I've no doubt that a very determined and professional spy would not get fooled, but maybe someone who was just sort of ‘casually’ watching, not expecting anything elaborate… Maybe it would work then. What do you think? Feel free to point out glaring holes in the plan that even a casual pursuer would easily catch. Really, I'm interested…
.
So, one more page after this then this chapter is done. Despite my attempt at humor in the last previous Author Notes, this story is far from finished. I'm aware of every dangling thread and I plan to deal with each one. All while trying different things with the art…
.
Thanks for reading everyone :)

@Plymayer: Haha, well the Saavedras have affluence, but not that much; @brava1102: Yeah, you're right about the fictional plot. No matter how good the plan seems, if plot calls for them to get away, they do - if not, they don't. And since this story has a ways to go, we know... something else has to happen eventually! I guess hooks like this just have to be believable enough for the reader to comfortably suspend disbelief to let the plot carry them along - like letting a current take you down a river. Too many glaring plot holes, though, and you just get out of the water :)

Any follower could lose track of them at any point. Maybe find the port-a-potty but miss the truck pick-up. See the truck and miss the switch-off. Or the followers just assuming it's another lot of illegals and calling ICE (or more likely ignoring them) We're conditioned by movies and TV to think tailing someone is soooooo easy. It's only easy when the fictionnal plot says it has to be.

Good plan. Would have liked to see your drawing/painting of a mini submarine though...

@Peipei: Safe... Well... Story is far from over ;)

Brilliant plan, lol at the Popeye passcode xD. It is a good plan, but will it ensure that they remain safe and undetected? Maybe I worry too much xD.

Sounds like a solid plan! Luckily the Saavedra's took Kim's plight seriously. If they just thought she was troubled, they might've just called Emilio and brought Kim's pursuers straight to her!

Oh, and 'My Little Onion' and 'I yam what I yam'... Those are from old classic Popeye cartoons (you can find a bunch on the Net). Me and mine love digging up old politically-incorrect cartoons - they're hilarious
