Not a situation I'd like to be in…
.
I personally know someone who talks (and would act) just like Mr. Saavedra in the last panel, so don't tell me his (proud, extreme, and perhaps foolish) attitude isn't realistic - I know haha. But maybe it's good he's letting the machismo out - maybe his anger on getting trespassed surpasses what the invaders are actually saying over the loud speakers.
.
I'm off to the Gulf Coast for several days - more time away and I've about burned up all my buffer pages, but this RL business will subside eventually then I can get back on the story a bit better.
.
Thanks for Reading everyone :)

This doesn't look good!

Haha, I honestly don't know much about the technical terms about cinematography (and by correlation, graphical depictions of them). I've just seen LOTS of movies (and a fair amount of graphic novels) and try to reproduce what I think looks cool and dramatic (with varying degrees of success :) Like that 'dolly zoom' effect you mentioned awhile back - I always loved that effect but never new what it was called, much less how it was done :)
fallopiancrusader at 8:22PM, June 16, 2014
Haha, I thought you were breaking it on purpose. Akira Kurosawa did that occasionally when he wanted to create tension in a scene.
KimLuster at 4:50PM, June 16, 2014
@FC: Thanks! Ha, I had to look up the 180-degree rule! Now that I know it I'll be more aware, and only break it 'on purpose' occasionally!
fallopiancrusader at 7:34AM, June 16, 2014
Great cinematography in this page! You broke the 180 degree rule in every panel and made it work! Those commandos are so polite. I can't wait to see Kimber "deal with them", especially in that Bavarian peasant blouse!

@bravo: Thanks! Yeah, incredibly brave... and stupid...! But I inspired by the video of the chinese guy with a bag of groceries taking on a tank column... :)

Multiple helicopters, scores of troops in NBC gear; yeah that's fair odds for one pissed landowner with a rifle. Ruby Ridge mean anything to you? Great page. The colors are really saturated and the art and page are richer because of it.
KimLuster at 8:21AM, June 13, 2014
@Banes: yeah, I think, were she alone, she'd have a definite course of action, but all these people around, that she loves, certainly throws LOTS of variable in there. Yes, Emilio's dentist sucks - she could've at least put satellite radio in there (the trick is learning to chew without changing stations ;)
Banes at 7:21AM, June 13, 2014
Emilio: "That's the last time I go to THAT dentist!"
Banes at 7:21AM, June 13, 2014
I'm guessing Kim has no intention of surrendering - and rightly so. Can't trust these guys. This whole thing feels very real - I don't know if it's the angles, the dialogue, the situation...or a combo of many things, but this is an exciting, goosebump-inducing page. What a frightening spot to be in!
KimLuster at 4:24AM, June 13, 2014
@plymayer: Kimber Lee is already thinking of a plan that could avoid everyone getting shot at, but it Depends on Saavedra acting less macho... Good Luck! Thanks for the Coast tips. Tampa? Nice! I've been to a convention at the South Florida University campus there, and got to troll around the city a bit - I liked it there!
KimLuster at 4:19AM, June 13, 2014
@Peipei: Thank you! If they surrender meekly, there might not being any shots fired...! I'm sure Saavedra is up for that ;)
plymayer at 11:06PM, June 12, 2014
Good luck in the RL world. Went there once. Scary place.
plymayer at 11:05PM, June 12, 2014
Good luck on the Gulf Coast. I live in Dunedin (Tampa bay). The weather guessers are calling for lots of sunshine temps in the mid to high 80s or lower 90s with maybe some rain (they ALWAYS throw in the rain in the summer, even if they don't think so because....well it's Florida).
plymayer at 11:02PM, June 12, 2014
She needs to get the attention of the invaders and away from her family and friends. Maybe take off across the land or something. If she were alone I'd say fight. With all the good folks close by that really wouldn't be my way - too many collateral folks who could get hurt in a fight.
Peipei at 10:41PM, June 12, 2014
This is just freaking great x.x Now the whole family is involved. I only hope that no one gets hurt or worse in the midst of this matter...
