This story has been heavily dream-themed from the beginning, even though it's been a couple chapters since it's been broached.
.
Movies and books where huge chunks of the plot are handwaved away as ‘Just a Dream’ for no good reason… I HATE THOSE!! (pretty much the entire movie of ‘Boxing Helena, a whole season of the TV Show Dallas).
.
So if it seems like I’m ever doing that… Please trust me!
.
Thanks for Reading Everyone!

I did think for a moment that we were on the verge of finding out this has all been a dream but because the question is one that hung right over the story from the start it feels fair whatever the eventual outcome. Will she be wearing a patch like Nick Fury from now on I wonder!

@VinoMas: Thanks! And no prob - drop in whenever you have the time :D

Awww, what an awesome page. I haven't been here in so long I have lots to get caught up on. I'm fascinated with how you make this comic. Seems like a lot of layers for a page. Wow!

@Whirlwynd: Thank You!!

That eye in the last panel looks awesome!

@Bravo: Eternal consistencies aside, the head-shaking demon monsters were very well done! (routinely voted as some of the most scary disturbing scenes ever) ;)

ABBA didn't exist in 1971. That song was recorded in 1979 making it a pretty late disco hit. Let alone a dream of someone in 1971. Sounds like a poorly done film. Definitely nowhere near the quality of Ambrose Bierce.
KimLuster at 4:32AM, Nov. 9, 2015
@Plymayer: certainly been that!!

A nightmare.
KimLuster at 12:41PM, Nov. 8, 2015
@Bravo: Yes, if done right... But... Well in Jacob's Ladder, Jacob Singer is a 'Nam soldier dying in a tent in 1971. He's dreaming a future... A future that contains real elements from the future 70s (Disco dance scenes and music, incl the real song Voulez Vous...) that Jacob wouldn't have been able to mentally construct (unless his dream self can somehow peak into the real future, which I just don't buy...). I guess if they'd made his 'future' more vague, perhaps closer in time to his real death, or if they'd just taken the time to make his future not perfectly resemble a time we all know but we know he couldn't have... Well... obviously it doesn't bother others like it bother me - but it does bother me ;)

@Tom: Merrily Merrily...

Then there are dreams that are heightened reality. The after effects are all still there like Freddie killing you in a dream or the excitement stopping a weak heart (another Twilight Zone episode) but the actual experience wasn't what you dreamed. It was all a metaphor for something else that really did and/or IS happening.
bravo1102 at 8:21AM, Nov. 8, 2015
Jacob's ladder was inspired by Ambrose Bierce's Incident at Owl Creek Bridge, where an entire escape and future is dreamed by the protagonist in the brief ride to the end of a rope. It's also a Twilight Zone episode. Dream endings can work if the writer knows what he is doing like Ambrose Bierce.

Life is but a dream Kim and it's not time to wake up yet...
KimLuster at 6:36AM, Nov. 8, 2015
@Peipei: :D I shall strive to match your anticipation!!
Peipei at 2:18AM, Nov. 8, 2015
That's the big question in this story! Could it ALL really be just a crazy dream? I'm leaning towards all of this being real, but who knows! Omg, i'm excited to find out! When will we find out? xD xD
KimLuster at 11:26AM, Nov. 7, 2015
@Jerrie: Absolutely! Totally ham-fisted the way they did that...! The one I hated the most was Jacob's Ladder... Absolutely brilliant horrific disturbing movie of an 'Nam Army Vet suffering the worst hallucinogenic PTSD ever...! And then we find out he never even left Vietnam...!! His entire post-combat future, with therapy groups and friends, horrible demon creatures... were all just a feverish dream in an army triage tent... and then he dies... Arrgghhhh!!
jerrie at 11:07AM, Nov. 7, 2015
Dallas was my MUST watch show until that season.....
jerrie at 11:03AM, Nov. 7, 2015
OMG dont get me on a rant about that season of Dallas...which was a dream so they could bring back Bobby Ewing...THAT season...made me drop the show from my watch lists!!!!!!!!
KimLuster at 9:23AM, Nov. 7, 2015
@Banes: Chills...?! Wow! Thanks! We're certainly shifting gears! I think you'll like where we're going, even if it's not obvious at first!!
KimLuster at 9:20AM, Nov. 7, 2015
@El Cid: Hang on to those thoughts :)
KimLuster at 9:19AM, Nov. 7, 2015
@tupapayon: I'm reading a book called Biocentrism that talks about exactly that stuff!!
KimLuster at 9:18AM, Nov. 7, 2015
@Bravo: Well... I honestly gave that some thought...! Even though it's been almost two chapters since Eli busted out, actual story-time isn't that long. I concluded that the Colonel was too busy tring to handle the situation, give orders, than take precious time to change uniforms during this emergency... (my thinking anyway - not saying I thought correctly but I did consider it). I did change the color to the current Army dress uniforms and hope everyone just ignore that I got the colors wrong last time we saw him... ;)
KimLuster at 9:13AM, Nov. 7, 2015
@Genejoke: I'll let you guys be the judge on well I handle all this -hope I do well...!
Banes at 9:05AM, Nov. 7, 2015
I actually got chills when she said "got to be a dream..." Like y'all said, questions about dreams/reality/everything in between is what this story has been exploring. It is comforting to know that it's not going to end with the "nope! It was just a dream!" thing. XD I really wonder where we're going next, as we zoom toward Kim's eye!
