Chapter 13 Header
KimLuster on Jan. 1, 2016
When I was a child (pre-Internet) we had a set of world book encyclopedias. I combed through those things all the time! There were a few subjects that had lots of pictures that'd I'd linger over, stunned by the images - they were: Birds, Dogs, and Art. The Art section had an pic of this statue: Unique Forms of Continuity in Space, by Umberto Boccioni!
.
I had no idea what abstract art was, but I could certainly see a dreamy humanoid figure hurdling through space. I'd daydream about him all the time, picturing him… hurdling through space! So this Unique Hurdler is my inspiration for this chapter header, although I didn't go abstract!
.
Some of you may recognize this outfit from the Historical Costume Contest we had a few months back (you can see my entry over in my Godstrain Extras comic - that button over there to the left ;)). Although it will take a few pages to get going, I've been looking forward to doing an idea I've planned for this chapter for months!! And… maybe this costume will make an appearance *wink*
.
It's a new chapter! And Kimber Lee probably could wait for the old chapter to end soon enough!
.
Thanks for Reading Everyone!!

That's a very interesting sculpture for sure and perhaps what is most beautiful about it is that you can tell it was crafted absentmindedly, there's real personality in all those curves. Lovely to see how you've brought it more to life as well, I'd already imagined the arms where you've drawn them so it goes to show how powerful the mental image is.

@ashtree: Thank! Yeah that sculpture looks so modern, but it was made in the 1930s I think - fascinating stuff!

With the way this story's set up, there are so many possibilities for where this can go. You could be as abstract/surreal as you want, really.
Banes at 10:12AM, Jan. 1, 2016
Beauty! A Greek Goddesstrain!

I love her pose and facial expression! It looks like you've broken out the watercolor pencils again...
PaulEberhardt at 9:37AM, Jan. 1, 2016
Now I'm extra curious. That ancient Greek mafia on Mt. Olympus had better watch out. ;)
tupapayon at 8:31AM, Jan. 1, 2016
Very nice!... she looks like some sort of ancient Greek Godstrain...

All she needs are wings on her sandals.
