A powerful moment. Sweet with the kids, but it's painful that her possible goodbye to Emilio is tainted like this (painful but realistic, don't get me wrong - this is more like things might play out in real life). I love how the kids understand the life of a superhero with such clarity. I almost wanted this page to stretch out for longer. Isn't that the way moments like this (the panel with the kids) are in life, too?
Emilio....Tsk tsk tsk. I hope that Kimber really does make it back there in the end, if only for the sake of those kids. Emilio can deal with his demons on his own, but those two kids though :(...
@FC: Ha, you know, this is a prime example of how intention doesn't always equate to the result... I intended for Kimber Lee to imply that it would hurt her too much to look back; that she 'became' stoic about it for her own sake... but yeah, no matter how she meant it, her family (Dyson esp.) could (and probably did) take it much harsher... Just as happens in RL ALL the Damn time haha
@Bravo: you betcha... Kimber Lee could absolutely wreck Emilio (already cool physically, and pretty much any other way...) - let's hope she stays a 'good gal' ;) Not wonder he's so strung out!!
Well, Emilio made his bed, and now he can lie in it. I sure hope Dyson doesn't end up too traumatized by that "Goodbye, and I'm not looking back" line. For a kid, that would sound like a pretty harsh abandonment.
And in the best hero tradition, the hero must be alone. She must leave all domesticity behind, no family, just the hero and her questions. Strikes quite a heroic pose, our Kimmie, ah yes. Walk into the camera, stand up straight and don't look back. Heroes don't look back, they must leave it all behind them in their fight. They protect, not enjoy the comforts of hearth and home. Always onward. Who you kidding Kimber Lee, you're gonna fight for custody, Emilio is going to pay sooooo much child support, he is going to suffer for his fling. Time to lawyer up Kimmie, the Army has great divorce attorneys. Lots of divorce in the military.

This has to be one of the toughest decisions of her life! Beautifully handled and very emotional page.

...and she can't look back. That's a tear jerker!

@Z74: Indeed!!
Z74 at 4:50PM, Nov. 20, 2016
that would be a hard thing to do
KimLuster at 5:36PM, Nov. 18, 2016
@tupapayon: A good way to think of it... And I think Kimber Lee is doing exactly that!
KimLuster at 5:35PM, Nov. 18, 2016
@Barry: yeah... but if she make it thru this, it... well, just stick with me ;D
tupapayon at 1:38PM, Nov. 18, 2016
Now she can fight without fear... when you have renounce to everything you have got nothing to lose...
BarryCorbett at 10:27AM, Nov. 18, 2016
A very touching page. I think it's clear why she can't look back.
KimLuster at 4:34AM, Nov. 18, 2016
@Peipei: Yeah, not good being seperated from the kids... Orn knows all about that...
KimLuster at 4:33AM, Nov. 18, 2016
@Plymayer: yeah...

@Jerrie: at least she didn't break his neck ;)

@El Cid: Strangely enough, sometimes the sad absurdity of a situation has made me do the same... much to the annoyance of everyone around me ;)
jerrie at 10:55AM, Nov. 17, 2016
sad that she's leaving her family
El Cid at 10:27AM, Nov. 17, 2016
Wow, she's being quite philosophical about all this. But it's probably the only decision to be made, really.

@Whirlwynd: Kids can see through BS faster than almost anyone... It's only when we grow up do we willfully let the veil cover our eyes

I like how kids just parse things instantly sometimes "she's a superhero, that's just the way it is"
