Thanks all :-D kennatsu - They are near a wall, also I assume he used a strong line. Glass - They are crystals. The one you're referencing is usually refered to as a sceptor & is one of the more prized types of crystals.

That would be really cool to actually do, would take a lot of crystals, but if you already have them. Reminds me of the little tree scpltures you can get at fairs and shows, where the use little rock chips to make the leaves on the ends of wire branches.
