An idiot congresswoman came out with a spurious claim for eliminating the Electoral College and well, I had to point out the fundamental flaw in her argument.

Honestly, the way to fix America's Voting System has more to do with allowing those in poor, high population areas (or areas that seem to vote against the local gerrymander optimisation) to be able to vote than anything else. Basically, the entire voting side of your elections needs an overhaul, but nobody in power there is willing to do it. Also, if most of your people are white, then one-person, one-vote is also racist, but at least it's racist in a fair way.

Personally I think a rule/law making the expansion or reduction in a district's borders be handled in a simple and logical manner rather than the wild and weird borders that gerrymandering usually engages in.

Also, thinking that some race needs special treatment is racists almost by definition. Even if it's positive discrimination. It may be necessary, but it's definitely racist.

Good question. One theory is that they spend too much time on Twitter and assume that the Far Left loons they meet there represent the majority. Of course, if they would just talk to the people they are supposed to represent they would know better.

The claim is false. The EC keeps the majority of the country in charge. It keeps the population centers from controlling the rest of the country.
