Don't worry PlaceLikeHome, Snowflake is a very, very professional stunt horse with years of experience. He handled this scene like a pro. You may also be glad to know that this was his last stint in comics before retiring. He now lives on a very cost farm in upstate Vermont. :)
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! Its very lovely to hear that you enjoyed this so much and it makes me feel really excited to move forward with this and keep trying to keep this as punchy as possible. A lot of this story is actually completed, there are a decent amount of pages that have been completed, and the script is done. I'm still in the process of drawing the comic out, but theres enough in the storage locker to keep going for a month or two without me getting anxious. :) Every Monday until this is wrapped up there should be a fresh shiny page posted up online. :)
Rarely does the initial experience equal the anticipation. I eagerly awaited the beginning of this story (after those excellent teasers), but I really thought it'd be just a nice continuation of what I'd seen so far. But you've managed to up the ante. This is just incredibly well done. The art (of course) but also the dialogue and the setting (with lots of little slice-of-life side panels). And a whole chapter to kick it off. Pleasant Surprise is the last thing I thought I'd feel at this point. So, do you have a lot of this story already done - or will you be posting as you create from this point?
