If comics were sapient, I would be in court for neglect right now. I'll reply to comments soon!

Items:
-I used Otpor pictures a lot to get a sense of how mass Eastern European protests might look in the 90s, which was interesting (but genuinely coincidental) timing at the moment.
-The Dombass scene is reffed from the coal miners protests, also during the 90s. (Kinda hard to find good pictures of.)
-The Greens had a surge in popularity towards/just after the end of the USSR, largely in response to Chernobyl, so I'd imagine casual use of tactical nukes, even as a threat or a bargaining chip, would also be seen as scarily, lethally bad for the environment and its human denizens. Hence the Green picketer in the first panel.
-I realize it's been nine years(!) since I posted those scenes, so, reminder: officials/oligarchs stealing money intended for refugees and people made (more) destitute by fighting has been A Big Deal in this alternate history.
-I would not personally protest on a big open flight of stairs. Too easy to bust your head by the most innocent accident. But it's like, iconic. How could I resist it?
-I think the Lviv city hall is a classic textbook example of Cossack Baroque, but I'm really ignorant about architecture and frankly too tired to look it up right now.
