This whole story idea came about because I doodled a cat and a man in a hat, both smoking and drinking coffee at a table in early morning light. This was some 20 years back now. I liked them so much that I frequently doodled them and slowly plotted out a weird little story involving them.

It's really weird, yet very interesting how a story idea come into fruition from a single sketch. The cat smoking a cigarette was really unexpected when I saw this page. :)

I don't even remember how that first sketch came about. It's funny how stuff sticks in your head sometimes, though.
