Louder Than Bombs

We just barely made it on time this week! Whew…
So yeah, as much as we liked the art and the comic's basic premise, neither of us could get behind the writing at all. Here is the comic we refer to in the fourth panel. Like Hark said, it feels strangely sinister, and the tacked on misogynist joke feels… well, tacked on.
As far as favorite pages, here's mine and here's Hark's.
Don't forget to hit up our forum with any thoughts, and we'll see you next week!

Skipped around a bit and liked what I was seeing. Perhaps if I read it all sequentially I'd get tired of the griping about relationships, but that's what having other things to read is for. I was about to go ahead and fave it, then realized it wasn't hosted on DrunkDuck.

Thank you so much. I've had an odd sort of love/hate relationship with this comic almost since its beginning. I love the art and especially the writing. I found that the purpose of the writing wasn't always to get a laugh, but to tell a story or pose a point. It could even, at times, be quietly profound in the small slices of life which it demystified. I also enjoyed the format heartily, discovering that it was oftentimes up to the viewer to make the connection between art and words, to think instead of passively reading. But...as I went on, there were continually more and more disgusting, disturbing things to think about, all of which basically imparted the same message. That was why I finally gave up on it and stopped reading, thoroughly confused by all the positive reviews I had been hearing of it.

I have to agree on certain issues here... for what i have read (not all of it, but most) a lot of the humor makes no sense to most people or is just too "Ew..." to want to be understood. I think it has some good humor from time to time, but it's failing (to me) because it seems... forced in an oddly perverted and/or violent position, and almost nothing else so far... It could get a lot better... but this is also i reason i only make Story comics >.>

Oooh, harsh. I'll try to defend our comic. First off, it seems you didnt read past the first thirty strips (the ones done a whole year before the next 50). It's kind of when we hit our stride. I'm just guessing cause of the comics your chose to crop into your backgrounds. Second, I formally apologize for the fact that we don't use typical webcomic fodder (gay jokes, internet humor, gaming humor etc) to win over the masses that flock to webcomics in read the same crap every day. Also, I'm not sure why you tend to use a comparison to newspaper strips as a bad thing. Liberty Meadows was an amazing strip and I brought the funny like no one else. The ultra-masculinity that we portray in the comic is a satire about super manly men that grunt and have balls on the hitches of their trucks. Get over it. Don't take this the wrong way, we're not insulted by the review. I mean, a review is just a review. We can't really take someone seriously when they say we're just going for shock value when he makes jokes about gay people or guys throwing up on other guys. Seriously. Seriously? You ever read Electric Retard or Morning Glory? THOSE are for shock value. Yeah we're different and proud of that fact. Now excuse me, while I draw another shock value drenched comic.

Hark nearly being obscured by his own text is strangely amusing to me.
