Things are going from bad to worse here…
Alright peeps you get a couple of things straight! First of all I personally think the last few updates have been very disappointing, and no I don’t care what you guys think about them. Sorry, but my own critical point of view is pretty much the only thing that matters when I’m occupied with drawing. Your comments and critiques are always very appreciated but when I don’t like my results not even the praise of the pope would cheer me up. All of this means I have been practicing my butt off the last few days. For every drawing I post dozens of failed attempts are discarded. That’s why the comic has been going so slowly lately, I simply can’t post stuff I don’t personally approve of.
Phew… sorry if all that sounded a bit aggressing, I guess I had a lot of bottled up frustrations as a result of all this failing of mine. Anyway on an other topic I have seriously been thinking about making an other comic. I know I know it’s a bad idea. I’m struggling enough with one comic as it is already and one more wouldn’t mend things at all. I’ve been trying to ignore these new surges of inspiration but I cannot disregard them any longer. This new comic would be a lot more refined than The World of Higal. Higal was a spur of the moment thing. Something I started without thinking through very much and developed along the way. Seriously did you know I draw the characters first, then make up the dialogue and only then think about where I’m going to take the story. It’s the complete opposite of how it’s supposed to go! I’m very worried about how all of this will turn out because I know Higal will suffer under the development of a new project. It’s far from done but I think it has some very nice elements to it already.
That’s why I’d very much like to know how you people think I should approach this dilemma of mine.
Sorry for this long rant but I really had to get this off my back.

Hey, no one's paying you to do this stuff, so you don't have to please anyone but yourself! If this comic isn't doing it for you at the moment, go make a start on the new one. Maybe at some point in the new one you'll hit a brick wall and want to come back to this one. Maybe you won't but it does happen! I would advise planning out the story in advance for the new one, though. When you have a specific end-point to work towards, you'd be surprised how much extra motivation you feel once you start counting down the pages!

Ah yes, this is a familiar scenario. I'm pretty sure everyone who draws/writes comics has this moment at least 3 times a day. :P You just have to do what makes you happy. Have fun expressing yourself and telling your stories and be prepared to have to do some comic triage, when you find yourself juggling way too many stories at once!

I know it sucks when people advice you, "you should do whatever you feel more happy doing" but in reality that's the only way to go. You shouldn't stick to a project you do not enjoy anymore and who knows, in the future you might like it again and can always come back. Good luck with whatever you decide.

That sounds like the most logical thing to do :p.

You spent a lot of time and effort developing the characters here, but hell man it's your baby. Don't bother with the Pope, he has bad taste in comics.

Wow, that was a big Author's note!, but you're right!! I'm feeling the same thing in my comic, really, you said:"Seriously did you know I draw the characters first, then make up the dialogue and only then think about where Iâm going to take the story." I'm doing the same thing too!! and I feel the same thing. but Hey!!!, don't just trash this project, it has awesome characters and you can do something about your storytelling
