i am going to be updating this comic at least once or twice a day. anyway trying to make more facial expressions for black mage. all i have is him like this, mad, confused, and normal and this is the new battle screen. credit for gaddick for fighter in panel one.

Wow Orin... harsh... true but harsh... You left a few things out but I think enough has been said on this page... friggin harsh... I'm kinda scared to ask what you think of my comic but... I don't think I can take such brutal honesty.... screw it, check it out and rant away! I'm always looking for improvements!

ok look things like your and you're are things that have been forgotten by most people because of the use of texting and the status bar for the fights is something i made similar to final fantasy dawn of souls mostly because i didn't like how it was suppose to be. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090605102001/finalfantasy/images/e/e9/Final_Fantasy_1_NES_Battle.png if i went with this kind of format i would have little room for them to talk and i found the backgrounds. i had to look under final fantasy 3 to get them cause they were not in final fantasy.

the writing is really very poor, and drawn out for no reason i can understand. there's nothing resembling a plot, and the characters are boring generics. you can't seem to understand how to add background, in spite of it being the same thing as adding the sprites themselves and you've wasted a great deal of space of the sake of adding a 'status bar' that serves no purpose and is designed wrong. also, there were no mp in the original FF, you cast a certain number of spells per level and then ran out. and finally, it's "you're" not "your" in that sentence. learn to spellcheck yourself, and don't whine that MSpaint doesn't have it, YOU do it.

Yeah, exactly. There's NOTHING stopping you from using backgrounds. MS Paint may be basic, but it's still usable. How else could you put those sprites in those panels? It's the exact same principle; just copy and paste.

Actually if you can find 8-bit backgrounds from Spriters resource, putting them to your comic is a piece of cake. Just copy, add to your comic and then add the characters to it. I've been doing so all the time.

sorry shadow but i cant use those because all i have is paint. without it it will be hard for me to put anything on the screens. so till i get photoshop or something i will stick with these kind of backgrounds.
ShadowScar Knight at 8:14AM, May 22, 2010
I know this comic is 8-bit, but I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt if you used some 8-bit backgrounds instead of those eye-stingingly bright green and blue colors. Dx I have to blink my eyes a lot afterwards just to soothe the sting. Maybe it's not as vibrant on your screen, but still. Maybe check Spriter's Resource to see what they have? There's bound to be a lot of 8-bit backgrounds. with that, my score on this is gonna be mediocre.
