I think that a brief recap about what happened in the issues before Faeriequest is necessary for a better understanding. In a long story arc taking place in the chapters 8-13 (still only in Italian), Esin tried to kill Ian, because she believed he was cheating on her with Innelda. Unbeknownst to Esin, Ian survived, but was not able to return to his solar system. So he continued to live on Seelhoë IV, in disguise. When Esin and her crew came back on Seelhoë IV to fight against Innelda, Ian joined them posing as a mercenary, and saved Esin from death. But when she found out who he was, Ian left her, claiming that he didn’t love her anymore.
