and the kitchen crew takes her sudden outburst pretty well too, all things consitered. But then, Dishwashers don't have to be sane.

Elle has taken her tunic off for two reasons, one to illistrate that it wasn't Sere's cleavage that marked her as a whore, and two, because it's a pain in the ass to wash dishes in a billowy-sleeved shirt.
