Relationships are quite a tough challenge to juggle in one's life. Who would've thought that when describing a significant other's strengths, that “personality” and “ugly” were interchangeable words? On top of that, a relationship in and of itself can be comprised of the acts of test-taking, job interviews, and cross-country running all wrapped into one. Last time I checked, those were all things that people don't like doing!
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I'm willing to bet that beholder never had the distraction of skin-tight pants and a sports bra.

Ouch! That's harsh.

@ayesinback You're right, too many people throw in numerous expectations and obligations when they consider what a "relationship" actually means! Also, I wanted to mention that my updates will go on temporary hold so that I can allow myself some breathing room to work on the site over at CF! Then I'll try catching up there but will resume the updates over here. I just want to make sure that if something happens here on our beloved DD and I have to jump ship quickly, I need to have a ship to actually jump to!

You ask some interesting questions. Could it be that there's too much attention put on "relationship" versus enjoying each other's company? It's a little hard for me to articulate what I mean, but here goes: companionship seems to be what is given to another, and received, whereas "relationship" begins a concept of "ownership" and with that, "entitlement" is not far away.
