Looking at your comments section for a moment...I like your art style.
If it was exactly like regular manga I would find it far less interesting to look at.
That's a good point to keep in mind. Thanks again, DAJB. I'll consider how things go but will probably take your advice.
Oh -- and anytime. Now I'm back on the Duck I've been catching up on the pages I missed out on. The story keeps developing; I'm enjoying it.
I've found that, when you're running a comic at more than one site, it's easier to update them together than it is to keep one a step behind the other. I understand the rationale but, in practice, I've found that each site has its own audience and they don't "cannibalise" each other. Not especially important but something to think about when this site eventually catches up with freehostia!
Oh, and thanks for your kind words on Shades!
Thanks, Whirlwynd, Emily Elizabeth! I'm very manga influenced but never managed to pull it off completely so here's the way I draw, haha.
I do hope you enjoy the new pages. I'll be updating regularly until I'm a week behind the main website. My main worry is whether or not I start too slow, haha.

There's another person? Love the perspective on the bottom panel.

El Cid: Really? Thank you, that's encouraging! I've still got a lot to learn until I can feel comfortable with dialogue and writing in particular. :]

I think I'm getting a feel for the characters' personalities so far
