Actually, I always kept my starter Pokemon with me for the whole adventure - they're usually pretty good. Except for the grass ones - man, they suck. It's just that you find so many better Pokemon on your adventure, and the ‘scissors-paper-rock’ dynamic that they set up with those three isn't really going to satisfy everyone. Personally, my favourite Pokemon is Ralts. That little dude rocks the house hardcore…um, yo. That still doesn't explain why EVERY SINGLE ROCKET/MAGMA/AQUA MEMBER only has the choice of five fuckin' Pokemon. There's Meowth and Oddish right next to Silph Co, for God's sake! Uh…Enjoy the comic.

Dude, bite my ass. Chickorita's the best. Solarbeam all the way.
TBustah at 2:33PM, March 10, 2007
Bulbasaur and Totodile totally DON'T suck. But yeah, like Aussie Kid said, Chikorita is a weak faggoty waste of time. Still, it'd be pretty cool if the big N were to break from tradition and offer a Pidgey as a starter. They have a stage 2 evolution like all the past starters have (except for Pikachu and Eevee), so I don't see why they couldn't.

Treecko and Bulbasaur are cool, though I agree with Chikorita. Cute, but not much use the early gyms
