I think Dom should ride a horse. They’re easier to draw than cars.
And the story should take place in a forest, with lots of big rocks and mushrooms. They’re easier to draw than modern architecture.
But I suppose I should be able to draw all that annoying stuff I don’t like, so having to draw it is probably a good thing. I can draw all my favorite things when I write my own book.
Speaking of writers, Sammi’s been rather absent for the last few updates. I believe she’s buried under a mountain of work (mountains I can draw). Crap work, from the sound of it. If y’all are lucky, she might just find time to write more script. I just used up the last page of it.
Weirdly I think the watercolour was what caught my eye with VD in the first place. Makes me think of coffee stains so it seems oddly fitting to a detective story.
Great writing as usual and I wouldn't worry about the car, looks fine to me.
Oh I want LA Noire *so bad*. But I am being a good girl. Not buying games I am aware will become a time sink. Though I will be going immediately after this to get the OST ;)
Pete hates cars. I remember him telling me this way back in chapter 1 when he had to draw them on the streets. There will be some important car-related stuff to come in chapter 4 ;)
@Piperson - I think the style may be a bit distracting at first, mostly because I know that a lack of ink and clear design often conflicts with the conventional. But I love the often messy, typically gritty style of VD. I love the watercolours. Maybe it wouldn't work with another story, but I just can't imagine VD looking 'tidy' as much as I can't imagine Dominique cooking coq au vin for her husband and three children ;)
I'm new to Valentine's Dei. I'm impressed! Intriguing story and nice art. It's obvious that you know your way around a piece of paper, Just one thing, the messy water color technique is a a little distracting. I'd really like to see this with some proper inks and some simple, clean computer colors.
But I really like it. I'm on board for the ride!
Too far away to look badass. She looks adorable in the last panel though, she's just so happy about her ride.
Speaking of the ride -- yeah, cars are a pain to draw. But a beat-up old ride won't draw attention as long as she doesn't go into a rich part o' town.
From a tactical standpoint, renting a car makes sense as it makes tracking Dom much harder since she'll never be in the same ride twice. On the down side, it also allows someone to trace her ride back to the garage and get some answers there.

I have considered switching to inked work, mainly because it's easier to prepare for print, but it just wouldn't look right.

Badass indeed. I highly recommend reading this to the OST from L.A. Noire.
