Page 45...Homage

While I was working on the focal frame of this page I showed it to my son, whose cartoon character “Rad Rodney” I’ve drawn swinging from a light. He instantly began correcting my depiction of his creation which is perfectly understandable.
I’ve wanted to do a page paying homage to subscribers, webcomic artists I enjoy and elements of the cartooning world that I love. It was done with the utmost love and respect for the art of all of those depicted and PLEASE forgive me if I’ve insulted you in any way. I can truthfully state that it was a lot of fun. This page has been in all of the past renditions of the story…the obligatory space cantina…Ernie has always been there as has the pointing Martian….and alien behemoth “Boogy” (the dude with the EAT SOMETHING shirt).
I apologize for any trouble you have with translating Ruff Rork’s dialogue….he usually says very little.

I love the last panel. Something familiar about one of those guys. Nixon and Ernie are a nice touch too.

Thanks. The dude has a commanding presence at the bar...writes his own backstory.

Probably not gonna get the best TV signal, and I think you can only spend so much time on a panel.. the crowd is fine in our eyes! The image resolution is lower on here!.. had you forgotten to resize it on CF?

I noticed that...I might as well be snapping Polaroid's of my vintage computer screen. I get a bunch less views on the Duck than the other place....I'll figure it all out eventually.

I spent a little time pondering the outside of the Riff Raff Cafe, wondering if I should recognise it! (look what you've done to us) I recognise a lot of the characters in last last panel,.. certainly looks like you had fun. Never attempted anything quite that ambitious.

The Riff Raff Cafe is a pure work of fiction, although my brother pointed out that elements of the picture reflect my HVAC/plumbing history. He was impressed by the fact that there’s a stand pipe. I’m wishing I spent more time on the crowd.

That's quite a last panel

Thanks, I could do frames like that forever...I should have added Waldo.
