Formal S-b-S: base colors
ladyranozenth on May 18, 2007
This image(2nd of three) is for the Beauty Contest that was on the front page newspost a little while ago.
I'm switching to working on this one, because the Contest is calling for this one first. I'll go back to the swimsuit next week.
The colors ar working out okay, I guess.
I'll add in the foot when I can figure out how to draw it.

Ah, yes, it does feel like that in the inks…I didn't want to mess up the ink by attempting to do the gradient, even though it looked fine in the pencils. Maybe I shouldn't have erased it after I inked. Although the visual draw in the base colors is subdued as compared to the ink, it IS still rather distracting…but I don't want to change it at this point in the game. D:
Sad? I meant for more of a neutral expression, as she isn't the type for formal occasions. Rather get physical *groans at connotations* or be utterly casual. I guess I'll have to mess around with the eyes and mouth a little, so as to get the right emotion. It's bothersome how just a subtle line can make such a huge difference on the spirit of an image.

It looks a lot more balanced now, my eyes now go from her chest and are drawn down the rest of the dress by the fading colour. I agree on your sentiment about the subtle line, very bothersome.
