#18: Halloween Party

When I was a kid, Halloween was a big deal to me I think basically for the sugar input. As an adult, my friends and I have hardly ever done anything special for Halloween, I think as a result of a mixture of apathy and other holidays overshadowing it (especially since among us there have been up to four birthdays between August and September). The company I work for has been expanding (which is heartening for my long-term prospects), and as a result parties and holiday celebrations have become more frequent and more extravagant. This is kind of good and kind of bad for me, since I have a lot of great coworkers who can be fun to socialize with, but large social gatherings are a great way to trigger my clinical anxiety. Wearing a costume just didnt even occur to me as a thing to seriously consider; I havent bothered even for an anime convention since 1998 or so. Even now I have no idea whatsoever what I could actually do for a costume, but if Im still with the same company next Halloween Ill have to think of something.
