Hello, hello! And have a very pleasant month, by the way!
What IS in that cig, I wonder? :D
Fotis is overly happy with his plan working, isn't he?
This page was really exciting for me to make, because we got a first appearance for nearly the entire main character group!
Basil FTW! :D The only one in the outfit that actually has combat experience and skill other than attacking fists flying. XD
As for what there WAS in the cig, the question will be soon answered ;)
Hope you like what you see here! I have been playing with the font size, I think this works best. But I am open to suggestions.
Oh, nearly forgot: There was curfew enforced in Athens by the Nazis, from sunrise to sundown, and light was strictly forbidden to show through the windows for fear of the occasional bombings that took place.
Anyone caught outside during curfew was either shot on sight or immediately taken to headquarters for questioning.
Mondenkind: You think? Trust me, if he had been a better guard, he'd be lying dead now ;) I just know Basil's backup plan. This guy has been extremely lucky.
Thanks for coming aboard! In what way do nazis obsess you, by the way?
Nazis were no easy opponent, despite what crappy WW2 movies showed. You will see that very soon. It's just that in the beginning in Athens, they couldn't bring themselves to believe that runts weighing less than 30 kilos could even dare try to outsmart and attack them.
They learned very quickly. :(
Can't wait to read more! That, and I KNEW he should have been doing a better job of watching. Foolish Nazis, brandishing foolish men. If it were me in his place...that would not have happened. >.
Heck yes! A comic with Nazis! (an obsession of mine) Where the hell have I, as a polite fräulein been this whole time...I need to catch up! *goes back to the beginning and reads like a shun of a...*
DAJB: Exactly. Though nazis didn't offer any equipment- so Greeks used dark blue paper students used to coat their books with, and were forced to shutter and fetter their windows on the outside under pain of death.
And thanks!
Not being occupied, Britain didn't have a curfew as such, but not showing lights at windows was a big thing here. The logic, as you say, was that WW2 was the first war in which civilian centres were under serious threat from air attack.
In the UK, people were given special "black-out curtains" and we had official "Air Raid Patrol Wardens" (made up mostly of men not eligible for conscription) whose job was to walk around the streets at night, yelling at anyone who had a light showing from their window.
Oh, and another great page. Obviously!
Awe I thought the Cig would have a "load" in it and when it popped, "Jerry" jumped someone would come from behind to teach him to dance with Senorita Garrote.
Used books: yeah they did figure out it was better strategy to do it in the reverse way. :P
Nicotine: Yes, it was one big reason why so many windows weren't only shuttered but also sealed against light, especially when there were no curtains and other ways to make sure nothing showed and invited a night patrol in. :(
Or shot and then questioned... but they found out with that method that the little buggers were far more stubborn about not answering!
Smoking IS bad for you! Considering what's already in cigarettes, it takes some real talent to make them worse. XD
Ooo! Exciting indeed! I'm glad that guy was knocked out >_>. And I've read a lot about those curfews, but I didn't know about the light in the windows thing @_@

Dragonrider: if I decoded that correctly, isn't that what more or less happened? ;P
