PAGE 10!! Well, technically it's page 15, but it's page 10 into the chapter. I did say we were reaching the Chapter End… but I MAY have lied. Not because the story line is changing at all, but because I may divide it into bigger thematic units. We will see.
But we are, for sure, getting into the more serious stuff.
There are many things to say on the subject of nazi handling of citizens, but I will save it for now, and keep it for later, or for the forum.
Artistic-wise, this page was mostly rushed while I sandwiched it into far too many things needing my attention, so excuse my pathetic nazi uniforms, though they are actually historically referenced for accuracy. I just didn't have the time to make these nazis look better in them.
Next time, in the next page where they get more spotlight, I will do better ;)
dragonrider: Exactly. Which is the reason for the comic's rating, though I have tried to keep some things off camera. :(
LanceDanger: yes. But fortunately, the nazi could also lose out of this, except when the whole process was only just for fun.
As you said the reward was to goad them into a quick death to avoid their sadistic torture sessions. The SS took a heritage of excesses in questioning prisoners that came from the Inquisition and refined it to a perverted type of performance art. They would hold betting contests on who could keep their prisoner alive longest under torture. Sorry if this makes anyone ill but its the way things were done by the Axis powers. They built on a part of their heritage that should have been left in the Middle Ages.
Peipei: Maybe. But the sooner he talks, the less they'll be putting him through the shredder. :(
DAJB: They tend to forget the minor little detail of brutality and torture, don't they?

Nicotine: yes, they are haunting. And thanks! The historic centre of Athens that is Plaka is very picturesque. :)

Yeahhh, I've watched some documentaries that talked about Nazi torture. Pretty evil situations D:. I like the scenery here. :D

I say he's better off not talking x.x. The sooner he talks, the sooner they'll kill him anyway x.x.
DAJB at 6:38AM, Sept. 27, 2010
Ah, occupying forces ... And they wonder why nobody likes them!
Tantz_Aerine at 11:45PM, Sept. 26, 2010
Well, most of the times the issue was not to have one's life spared by them, but to be killed quickly and painlessly- THAT was the reward.

And they'll kill you later if you do!
