Chapter 5, page 2
Tantz_Aerine on July 14, 2007
Hey everyone!
I am so very late, but if you knew the workload I have in both my jobs (authoring deadlines as well as educational research work) you would be amazed I managed to bring this to you even on Sunday ;)
Anyway, here we see why Zou-zou feels so remorseful. Heh heh heh. I promise we will soon see why David took the syringe with him. And of course, the plot thickens… and I am hoping the sinister reality is starting to make itself known, too.
If you don't remember what Zou-zou is talking about, check out the first pages of chapter 4, where Zou-zou arrives and tells David just how that happened. ;)
Also, we have a new Voting Incentive! And it is a blast from the past! It's a photo, so to speak, of Zoe and David when they were in their senior year of undergraduate studies. Also the first year David became Zou-zou's guardian. Zoe is holding a bo from her martial arts practice, in case you are wondering. And yay for different hair styles! I hope you like it. I am particularly proud of that tree.
Ok, responds!
Locoma: mwe heheheh. Didn't we all want little Zou-zou to be crying over something insignificant… I am glad you like David! The fifth panel was my favourite, too :)
Adobedragon: Actually, Zou-zou only just realised the magnitude of severity of the things going on around her. Which is why she has this guilty trip. And while David does have a moment where he may seem to bend under pressure, he is not the type to lose it. At all. Even when he is dead tired at the end of a 48 hour ER shift ;) After all, he wouldn't be able to keep a girl like Zoe charmed if he was not a strong and reliable man, now would he? XD
I heart artists: Yay! I'm glad.
kingofsnake: Oh my goodness, you are right! I only noticed when you pointed it out, but so he does. XD heheehh. Good eyes ;)
ozoneocean: How could you tell it was a hotel!? Oy vey, my ploy is uncovered! Heh heh. Yes, dealing with a crying child is always a challenge, though I think he'd prefer it to be a temper tantrum than the guilty trip it proves to be.
Peipei: And so she is :) She was hiding something, but now she's come clean. She's been trying to come clean for a couple of pages (and about 3 days in the story's timeline), but now she finally managed.
Darwin: *shudders* I read in my research how they are inserted and stuff. I can imagine. I only found images of them coiled up and sterilized though. However I'd want that description even now, for future reference :) You never know when you'll need it again. As for David, he was the hero type all along. He just never saw the reason to display so, since Zoe was doing a great job leading. Heh heh heh. Did his mettle really remain so veiled until now? ;) Promise, the syringe scene is coming up soon.
Dueeast: Poor Zou-zou indeed. Also poor everyone else, considering what she did/ what they did. It is a nice change to see what Zoe has seen in him I guess. Apparently it was not that obvious XD
D0m: she is cute. Heh heh! I made her 3 parts cuteness. And at times, the duck has been known to eat my comments, indeed :( Usually when I drop my guard and don't copy them when I hit ‘send’
usedbooks: Hmmm… It is not the insanity that made her bawl, as we see today ;) heheh. But I guess it would happen if David was gone for longer than 24 hours. Big brother is always a reassurance, even if she gets grounded (see how she stops crying even though David is clearly not pleased? ;) )
And that's that with the responds! See you next week!!

Dang, now, that just wasn't RIGHT... jerks, using a little kid that way. Good page, lots of great art/dialogue etc. I'm running out of things to say, 'cause it all rocks ...

hehehe... you got me there, it was me that didn't want to face the cruel facts of wolf ;) luckily this page has humorous last panel... (I think). I can't tell you how cute zou zou looks in those clothes, and how real her "lines" sound. It really sounds like a little kid talking... not only that, her whole behaviour looks very credible. Bastards... they should be ashamed, taking advantage of a little kid >:( time to sharpen the scythe

Poor kid. I know she screwed up, but I still feel sorry for her.

Heh, I always wondered about the word gorunded... Grounded like an airplane? Grounded like cinnamon? Needless to say thinking like that didn't get the days reduced any for me in my youth. Awesome work,d rawing children is damn hard. I don't wanna!
Peipei at 9:02PM, July 15, 2007
I somehow had a feeling she was hiding something important :o...Wow, what a way to fool with a poor child's mind ; ; I don't blame Zou zou tho :o

Darwin at 12:56PM, July 15, 2007
Heh, yeah I mean he was always a strong character...but I never saw him really take charge before now. Poor Zou...the trust of a child and they used it against her. Damn Raven! Great page!
Ozoneocean at 12:55PM, July 15, 2007
I couldn't tell that it was a hotel for sure, but you gave a great clue and the doors had numbers. ^_^ Argh Zou-zou! Stupid girl T_T She's done it now... She looks so penitent!

Poor Zou-zou. Kids make pretty good pawns; don't they? Hard lesson to learn. Trust no one....
D0m at 12:24PM, July 15, 2007
Damn. She's a cute kid, but she shoulda known better than to slip up (I guess?) Good page. I did notice that you kinda forgot to add the whites of his eyes at times... And have you ever considered doing a radical shading and highlighting on the characters?
