Prologue Page 5
iowabarbidoll on Aug. 19, 2007
This is probably my least favorite page. The story changes quite a bit from here, so please don't judge me too harshly. ;-)
Big thank you to KEZ, AKA Web Goddess for her site updates! I think the site works much better this way! Thanks to the forum readers who shared their opinons on this subject as well!
And as always, thank you again to everyone who is reading and commenting! And for the TWC votes. I will start putting up vote incentives in a few weeks. I just didnt have enough art to make that possible.

I am touched to such an extent that I cannot even express how much. this is not the first time I read this page... I came back today again just to see it... and it makes me want to weep.

Wow... just wow! This is so romantic! The passion filled this page is beautiful... it is like comic meats poetry! It is THAT powerful!
TheMidge28 at 9:59AM, Sept. 21, 2007
striking...the middle panel of them deeply looking into each others eyes really emotes the longing there...well done.

You no likey Nick Cage, huh? ^_^ Claude is actually based on several other people that are neither of the two we have discussed. The Latin? It IS a prayer- the end of the Lord's prayer. It's an old Latin version that was on an 'ancient languages' website. If it ain't accurate, we'll go yell at them, but i don't speak or read Latin, so I trusted it was. But you get the cookie anyway because you cared. ^_^ ~B

I couldn't find "dimittimus" on online Latin dictionary, so I don't know what he's saying. Doesn't seem like a prayer, though. I've heard Nick Cage too. NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooOOOOOoo~~!!!
iowabarbidoll at 5:22AM, Aug. 25, 2007
Oh and the Peter Wingfield ref is interesting! My buddy Steve will get a kick out of that- he's a huge Dr.W fan. I've heard Nick Cage too. Got that Latin translated yet? ^_^ ~B
iowabarbidoll at 5:19AM, Aug. 25, 2007
Ohhh hoo...someone finally caught the Latin on page 2. I actually researched this. A Norman soldier is dying. What would he say?.... Lucky for me, it didn't have to be translated into ancient Frankish language, cause I'll tell you what- that's hard to find. No, he would have spoken something fairly common, and always said in Latin. That's all I'll say! *EVIL LAUGH* ~B

OK, what exactly does that Latin mean on that previous page? It was Latin, right? So refreshing to see a comic again drawn in this style. The guy kinda reminds me of Peter Wingfield.

"Xylia..." "You remembered!" "... I miss my cat.. Xylia..." "..." No really. This is incredibly beautiful as always.

Seems like a fairy tale that all grown up fairy tale lovers should read.

Thank you 'manypersonalities' (I love that name, BTW) ^_^ Sarah- you know it! ^_^ All You Need is Wuv. Cincy- thank you. (Unless the jaw drop was a medical condition unrelated to Xylia, and in that case, I hope you are okay! ;) Kez- you are way too kind. (I know how much you love nostril lighting though. That one was for you!) Because I can only update once a week, I do try to leave a tease at the end of each page. But thank you for the nice comments on the writing, it means a great deal coming from you!
warofwinds at 11:31PM, Aug. 20, 2007
Gosh, that tear, that expression, that UNDERLIGHTING. You are amazing, you know that, right? And again, that last line....y'know, one could imagine you having more experience with writing than you say, since you've managed so far to end each and every page with a hook, making us eagerly await the next page. High five for Barbhalla! (if they'd let me rate, blast it.)

Excuse me while I pick my jaw off the floor...

Hey thank you everyone for the kind words! I was so happy to get this page out of the way. ^_^ Not so much because of the art, but the story. But everyone has been kind about the comments, and I feel much better! Imagine, Nekko and Dragonki, thank you very much. THis was supposed to be a really 'pretty' scene in an ethereal way. Dueeast, thank you very much. I'm happy to hear that you are liking the story MORE instead of less. My style of storytelling is hard to follow at first- I like to reveal things gradually and it can be frustrating in the beginning. If I had a big archive, it would be less so... Thank you Net! I think it works better too! Kez is da bomb. Thank you Tantz! I wanted to be a Disney animator since I was a kid. It must show. ^_^ Thank you Dwight and Ozone! Means a great deal! ~B

Powering on with great art again I see Barb! Always good to see. Ah, these two are totally smitten with each other here!

Wow. Another glorious page, my friend. ^_^ Dwight L. MacPherson

Least favourite? That's unfair. I love the locked gazes between Xylia and Claudius. I also love the premise already. You ought to be bringing Disney a new air. I'd love to see your work animated.
Net at 6:49AM, Aug. 20, 2007
Ah yes, definitely like this site design better. Flows much nicer. :) *glomp*
dueeast at 6:30AM, Aug. 20, 2007
I like it. I better connected with this page than the others (not that there was anything wrong with the previous pages). Purple's my favorite color, so I love the eyes. :)
NekkoXIII at 5:16AM, Aug. 20, 2007
lovely as usual.
