i don't really care for the way the watercolor paper's texture scans. its a little distracting to my eye.
alejkhan - i finally managed to answer your question from page 153 as far as story and continuity bits are concerned. i do rather think this is what nova had in mind though.
Oh and as to Kaj's comment...
Yeah that's why I don't use watercolor paper... Just anything smooth that doesn't warp too bad with the water will do it for me. I hate my pictures having those grainy lines and stuff in them.
Kalliikak!!!!!!!
Ohmygod.. It's been too long. I got transferred around the country, and then I went to Finland and back, and then I moved, and so I haven't had any time for comics.. but I'm starting to get into them again.. finally. And WOW wow wow is yours a stunning work of art. I mean you keep commenting about how this or that didn't work out in whatever page.. but y'know, I don't give a shit about if it's perfect or not, I care that the story and the art do eachother well. And your story is beautiful, and your style is beautiful, and it's just one awesomely potent piece of work. Thank you for bringing such a thing into this world.
Anyway, your five seasons..
If you made postcard prints of those, I would so buy all of them and hang them in order on my wall on some black posterboard or something. Would you do that???
Khat's face was so strange as a "real" face on the last page - makes him. . . pulled out of a story and into physicality. Like a fable we're in the middle of, instead of listening too.
Every brand of watercolor paper that I've ever tried scans differently. I think you just have to keep trying new ones, and new press types and grains, until you find one that you really like. And then your art supply store can stop carrying it ;)
Continuity! Directions! But of course. Whether purposeful or not, they are helping Khat out.
The texture doesn't seem as obvious on this page. It really isn't scanner friendly. Well, in a way it proves that you have a good scanner that can pick up tons of detail??
