So yes, I would like a writer to help shape my vision for a comics story I have. I can write okay, well mediocre, and I need the help of an experienced writer to give my characters proper shape and development. I will have final say what goes into the script, but your name will be in the credits as “person who wrote those words”.

Okay, a little about the comic project now -
Genre - Sci-fi, Fantasy, Action, Comedy
Title - Nocks
Synopsis - On the island rich world of Grinda'teyo swarms of flesh eating beasts, known only as Black Clouds, roam the skies making air travel outside cities all but impossible. Safe within their precious domes, inhabitants take to large-scale submarine travel instead. Among such a sky-fearing populace, a named Shaw Nevada contracts an almost forgotten, but deadly disease called Telekinesis. As if this news isn't bad enough, Shaw and his only brother have been marked for death by a sinister and unknown organization. With no plan, new friends, and a strange new world ahead; Shaw seeks answers under the sea.

What you are asking people to do is very hard. I myself couldn't write someone other persons story, it would be like raising a child, while the other parent B*itches about any decisions you make and shape it in a way they like, making a really bad Writer-Artist relationship. That is the thing. I'm not saying anything about your writing, but on DD, by a miracle you find a thread where a artist needs a writer. It is either a artist just offering art, and is already taken months ago. OR the artist is available, but they want you to ‘add’ to their story. I have TWO FREAKING stories already made and ready. Because I'm a writer. For this type of thread, say this “Artist-Writer needs editor”. If you will just draw, then hell I could use an artist. But I can't raise your child. I already have two, and I just need an artist, not a artist that wants me to make their story more ‘detailed’. but hey, I'm a grouch, maybe I'll decide later to help with this story, nah. I re-read your post, make your own characters, make a thread saying ‘need help making characters more deep’ or ‘need tips on giving characters proper shape’. If you put you need a writer, it means you need a goddamn writer. Not a guy to give suggestions. Post under a different title, and delete this thread. OR just give art skills, and then have the writer help with YOUR story as well. The Regulators have spoken.
Been years since I was here. I've been at rehab since. So uh. Yknow, things got interesting.

Dude, dude, DUDE! Mettaur! Cool down, it's possible!

I would like to help but that synopis isn't giving me a vision of a point to start yet. Realize that anyone can write and I bet you could make this a wonderful story on your own.

Sorry dude, I guess I'm just stressed about the lack of artists I've found for help. Current Amount: 0. Really BC, If you have got that much stuff already, I don't doubt you being able to make the rest. As you make the comic, your character develops, comes from you. That's how a character is made. You can do it dude! Also, sorry If I was too rude or something man, we cool?

Hmmm you need too add more information for this job.

How do you see yourself as a creative partner on this?
Are writers expected to design characters?
Could you give us a sample of your art? (A good writer will wantd to know what your skill level is when they write their scripts so they can plan accordingly.)
How open are you to creative compromise?

See you've written a good description for a reader, but lousy one for a writter. As I writter I'm expected to write these characters but I know nothing about them except their name and their general story direction.

Honestly in a case like this in order for you to get a GOOD writer you need to be prepared to tell your writer what you want and how you want it or you need to be open to a back and forth creative process.

I mean waht is under the sea? Can a writter ad new charactes? What are these characters like? Who is this evil villian? Is the writer expected to invite this? It is action comedy but what does that mean? Do we expect wacky situations under the sea like fighting angry vampire sea cows or more like quippy relationship dialog? Is this a long term series or a limited one like 100-200 pages?

Imagine for spiderman I said “Peter Parker is bit by a spider and avenges his uncle who was killed by rober. This causes him to fight crime in a world full of fantastic colorful villians.”

Yea this sort of tells me about Spiderman but I could make batman with a spider theme instead of a bat one and still be following that description. I wouldn't know say for example Peter is an insecure teen, spiderman makes clever quips while fighting, that peter is a lower middle class everyman rather then a tormented rich guy. (Seriously first his parents and then his uncle, that could leave you with some serious brooding.)

Despite what mettaur said there is no reason to expect you can't find an writer to work on this with you but you stand a MUCH better chance of getting a good writer if you really let them know what they are in for.

Honestly I'd approach an author you already like first and ask them if they would be interested in partnering with you on the idea rather then just throwing this out there and hoping a good writer is the first guy to take you up on your offer rather then a total hack.
