Death. The first thing you think is that it is a large skeleton with a robe and a scythe and a low creepy voice that took you immortal soul to Hell or Heaven, depending on what you did in life.
How would you feel if Death was a sixteen year old girl with a perfect tan and a clumsy way going about doing her job? And her mentor, Doom, is sadly not the way he used to be… he has become a skull shaped mask that Death wears on the side of her head and she isn't the best person to teach. Kinda gullible and not used to her powers, she still carries around the list of the souls she must collect. Along the way she meets the other riders of the apocalypse;
Conquest- a pompus twelve year old boy who must ALWAYS get what he wants, even if he wants Death herself.
War- a fiery skater boy who always causes trouble and is seemingly indifferent to others.
Famine- a skinny prep who only eats smoothies and diet bars, she wants to take Death's place as the most reconized rider.
How will they manage to live up to the stereotypes that have been put upon them by the free world? And who is that guy that always seems to screw up their plans?
So, I hope to make it almost cartoony/manga feel to it. I have what I hope Death would look like and the other characters I would like to see other's depictions on them. If needed, I could give a physical discription of them.

I like your ideas, though the whole stereotypes of death thing has already been done:

The stereotypes of death are something that should have a hammer taken to them on a regular basis. Bleach, Soul Eater, After Lily, they're great and all, but this is one area where the more is the merrier.

Death is so much fun to mess with!
I'm not going to be able to draw the comic, since I already have a comic about death to take care of, but here are some character design ideas, if you need them.

This reminds me of the comic “Death Plays Chess.”(You know, sans the chess part). Anyone remember that one? Ah, whatever.
I'm going to have to disagree with Mail Order Clone, Having a manga similiar to something like, say Bleach, is not necessarily good, because from the get go the odds are stacked enormously high against you.
On the other hand, if this is what you truly want to do, I say go for it. Better something similar you love then something different that you hate.

Ha! I think my comic does the same thing. I'll definitely keep an eye on this.
