Hi All;
I'm looking for a creative “buddy” to help me work at a faster pace. Someone that can encourage me, give me feedback, and whom I can help in the same way.
In other words, I'm not looking for a collaborator, but rather someone to mutually assist. Someone who knows my self-imposed deadlines, someone who will help me hold myself accountable. In return for being up-to-date on my projects, I will keep up-to-date on theirs.
So, ideally, this is someone who maybe has a little trouble with deadlines but who is nonetheless motivated. Someone who likes my work well enough to comment on it when needed. Someone who wants a buddy to help keep their projects on track and wants occasional feedback.
There are two comic projects I'm working on currently. I stopped working on them several years ago but I've started up again. They are violence, which is intended for mature readers, and Xochitl and Nemo, which is intended as more of an all-ages kind of comic.
If you're looking for a better indication of my tastes, as webcomics go, I like Ice by Faith Erin Hicks, Ballad by deadmouse, any work by Jamie dee Galey, Fart Party by Julia Wertz…
Print comic creators I like: gabrielle bell, Charles Burns, Hayao Myazaki (Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind), Ellen Forney…
I was inspired by this blog entry.
Please feel free to email me at garza dot THE LETTER M WHICH IS MY FIRST INITIAL at gmail dot com if you are interested. My email address is six characters long, not counting the dot or the “@gmail.com” part. Also, if you're not so interested in a “partnership” but are interested in a working group or critique group, please email me in that case too. I'll respond to any emails so long as they're not trollish.
Thank you!
