Something odd happened recently. I logged onto drunkduck to find that I was in the Top 5. This seemed weird, though cool, seeing as I averaged about 120 hits a day. Then I looked at my stats and saw my comic was averaging about 3000 hits a day. Does anyone have any inkling as to why I have the sudden boost in readership?
Not that I'm complaining.

Mostly I've been feeling a mix between happiness the horrible fear that it's a glitch.
Also, my comic isn't artisticly splendorific, so I'm waiting for the inevitable 1s and mean-spirited comments.

The Top 5 logs the comics that have received the most hits in the past week. It's possible some of the Top 5 comics hit a slump that allowed you onto the list (even if they may have more total hits). But once you get on the list, that's all the more exposure to keep you there.
It could also be that you simply got a lot of attention from somewhere external, like a link.
Lastly, it could just be that you have a good comic and people are taking notice!
