I've recently been under pressure to find a replacement host for 'The Officially Unofficial Drunkduck Chat room' java applet when the current host decided to discontinue doing so. We're still working on making it look pretty, but I'm happy to say an arrangement was worked out with Blu (WhisperingSpirit) who has put the applet on a page at her website.

I only use the applet at school, but just being able to use it at school is useful for me.

its interesting, even though the chat is unadvertised, we tell people about it all the time and still noone knows it exists… i think some admins really need to advertise it…

People should be using MIRC for chatrooms anyway, not applets.

Applets are the work of the devil, it's time people learned this.

Not every one can use mIRC or some other chat client, Enef. Some people like to check in from work or school or a library and those places don't have or won't allow programs like those to be loaded on that computer. The the other reason for the applet is for new people who want to chat and either don't know about chat clients or don't have the right address to our server and channel. Which they can get from just about anybody in the chat room. Or you can just check the chat thread. (Just in case it's not anywhere in this thread, the server is irc.sorcery.net, the standard ports apply and the room is #drunkduck)
