The comic is well made but a bit sparse in regards to effects. what programs do you use?

I just use photoshop, that's all

Lucky, all I have to work with is MS paint xp and Gimp. they are alright (MS paint surprisingly so) but I find the layers in Gimp are cumbersome.
anyway, have you thought about adding shadows to your characters?

I honestly have never really thought about it, most of the time, the characters are in a darker setting, (such as the night) and I don't think too much about the shadows,but I probably should, I may get around to it in the future. I will admit I have made attempts at various affects, but I sometimes have difficulty getting things to look right, and eventually give up.
