antialias selections are your friend I select the character in question, who resides upon another layer, modify and expand about 5-10 pix. Fiinally, I chose modify and antialias. I'm sure your prog has something similar.

I like to put my ghosts on a seperate layer and set the opacity to about 50% then I do the glow (I like Neon green) also opaque That way anything behind the ghost is visible. But then ghost are not my stock and trade as in your strip. I use Photoshop. Your shade looks good!
