Try to get a military ground pad, very cheap at most military supply stores. Narrow and stiff, but very, very light and great insulation. Leo

If you don't have a car, Colorado is harsh... And not enough beds in shelters. A danger with blankets is stuff like bed bugs. Shelters here won't let you bring your own in, and the they don't even offer sheets or pillows, so a lot of people wear their jackets and use the free socks as a pillow. They DO supply a mat to lay on, though!
