Is there extra space inside the dinette seats and bed? I know people who have hacked a hole in those and crafted a door, to turn it into usable storage space. I also cleared up a lot of pantry space by getting camping cooking equipment that stacks inside itself for storage (3L and 2L pot, fry pan, dishes + cups + bowls, all fit inside the 3L pot). Not sure how often camping gear shows up in thrift stores, but if you see some, grab it.
Also, the reason things have tapered sides is so they can stack inside each other. So a basket with tapered sides wastes a little space compared to one with 90 degree sides. But if you have multiple such baskets and aren't using some of them, the ones with tapered sides will stack inside each other and take up much less space. Same thing for cups. Tapered tumblers will stack inside each other so 5-8 will fit in the footprint of just one, while mugs and fancier tumblers with straight sides have to have their own individual storage footprint.
Reminds me of why bees use hexagons for their honeycombs, it's the most efficient shape (circles are optimal for area-per-perimeter but have wasted space, squares require too much perimeter which requires more border material, hexagons are an optimal compromise). You seem to have a very cozy setup going on, the bees would be impressed.
Squares (and rectangles) will pack better into a rectangular space. Hexagons use less perimeter material, but you lose a lot of space along flat edges unless the hexagons are really small (like honeycombs).
saw some magnetic spice jars that were hexagons they were pretty..not sure canasters would make good use of the shape as people normaly only have one row of them.. .. its good shape for saving space.. in nature as it interlocks ..
