Pumpkin carving! It’s one of those funny types of art like Easter egg painting or decorating gingerbread cookies that you only ever get to do once a year. I never seem to get much better at pumpkin carving, but that doesn’t stop me from getting pretty intense about it! Most years I manage to injure myself slightly.
My jack-o-lanterns from the last three years are in the photo above. Once or twice I’ve been organized enough to borrow clay tools from a friend, but most years I just use a kitchen knife and a spoon to scrape away the pumpkin flesh. Three-dimensional art has never been my forte so I usually end up with something only vaguely resembling my original idea, but it’s fun all the same.
Do you get into pumpkin carving? Are you a fan of the classic triangles eyes and mouth jack-o-lantern, or do you get a little fancier?

Whoa you made these?!! Wow...!! When I first saw the pic I though you just grab some pics around the Webz and posted here for an article about how much you love Jack-o-lanterns!! These are really good, Hippied - carve me impressed!!

Yours claims not to excel at three dimensional art are falling on deaf ears here! I am seriously impressed. The traditional design is about all I can manage but if I make one it's usually not until the 31st.
