in classic myth He(zagreus) was a son of Zeus and Persephone, Demeter hires a dragon to guard Persephone from all her boyfriends.. Zues takes the form of a dragone, tricks the dragon into taking the night off and has a wild weekend with Persephone..she gets knocked up and Zeus quickly marries her to Hades.. leaving Hades to raise the cuckoo's chick.. when zagreus tries to take over both god realms Hades and Zeus he is repeatedly killed but he just wont stay dead. find the story in the Nonnus, Dionysiaca 6. 155 ff : or look him up at http://www.theoi.com/

zagreus was also an obscure greek god. he was apparently an underworld god in at least some versions. in the nonorphic mythology, he was sometimes said to be a son of hades. in other stories, he was originally a son of zeus and demeter. either of these origins could explain his interest in lan.

Considering Zagreus means "Hunter who catches living animals" (Yes I did some research) anything Mr Z handles personally and has full control over his side of- will have minimum likelihood of death- not to defend him or anything, but that is the thing with beings from Greek mythology, if their name translates into something other than a name- like a statement or job- that meaning is a core and unchanging aspect of themselves.
