Prologue Page 4
Abt_Nihil on Sept. 15, 2007
The last panel is modelled after these anime shots in which 3 layers move at different speeds… the BG slowly, the character a bit faster, the debris in the foreground the fastest. I'll have to animate this at some point ^^
Also, this page would obviously seem much more dynamic if I could have included sound FX. But alas, there's no atmosphere!
EDIT:
TheMidge28: I wouldn't wanna answer that quite yet, although it's definitely a good question! Wait until page 6, then tell me what you think…
DAJB: I didn't even know what BSG stands for until I googled it– yes, I am that lame! ^^
Nepath: Actually I never read Alita, although it was one of the earliest manga being published in Germany. I recall the artwork though, so I appreciate your compliment ^__^
Rockster & Stevesan: Thanks for the support.
Fitz: I'm not familar with FF8, but your question I'd intuitively answer with a “yes”. However, I'm not sure terms like organic or anorganic even apply here, just like terms of gender which I'm playing with (see my answer to Midge on the following page).

This reminds me of one of the Final Fantasy games, FF8 I think - there was a sequence in outer space like that, too. I like it how it's hard to tell where the helmet "ends" and her head "begins" when the helmet bursts. Is it a semi-organic structure?

Great looking page, that final panel is reminiscent of Battle Angel Alita.

No SFX in space ... it's just like BSG! (Any chance of Boomer making an appearance later?!) :D

really well done page...question though you said this comic isn't going to be sci-fi but something else...is this scene with her battling a space squid more symbolic? just thought to ask...
