Prologue Page 5

I upgraded the rating for this comic… it's still not supposed to be hentai, but to make sure there are no misunderstandings: (- please don't read any further if you don't like your symbolism spoon-fed -) I wanted to emphasize this prologue being a creation myth and I'm using clichéed hentai imagery in an ironic manner to add sexual overtones.
EDIT:
DAJB: I'm sure YOU can handle it… ^^ Thank you!
TheMidge28: Thanks a lot! I was going for that bizarre feeling… and “it” was partly intentional. It just sort of ended up that way, but when I realized it was going to look “as if”, I welcomed it ^__^ This is all very abstract, her being an alien and technically neither man nor woman, so I could play around with symbols as I pleased, and it also kinda splits up the phallic symbolism between her and the space creature. When you're using tentacles, monsters etc. you're letting phallic symbols play a threatening role… intrusion is associated with injury, trauma, loss of power of the female over her own body. So when I had the chance to blur the line between male and female, counteracting female victimization, I jumped at it.
Rockster1039: Thanks for the support.
Nepath: Well, it depends a bit on your understanding of sci-fi. This comic won't be all-out sci-fi like these opening pages. It won't take place in deep space, but I will take some liberties in depicting the surroundings and the society. Thanks!
Fitz: I'd agree on both accounts, I'd only like to add that the metaphorical can be physical and the physical metaphorical… in a story like this there's no clear boundary between poetry and science. That we call DNA to be self-inscribing is (IMHO) “just” a metaphor for a physical process; the physical process in itself can be described without using circular terms, but the metaphor is clearly circular - a self-inscribing and self-decrypting code… which seems quite poetic. This touches on this story's central motif, which will be developed as the story progresses, so I'll just shut up for now.

"I inscribe my structure into each of my parts" - that sounds like DNA to me, present in every cell of the body, except on a subatomic level. It reminds me not so much of a creation myth as it reminds me of Andersen's fairy tale about the mermain. It's the visual aspect of her splitting up - it looks just like Marina turning into bubbles of air.

very surreal, but excellently drawn. Im curious though, if this book is not going to be the Sci-Fi I am expecting...it sure has a Sci-Fi opening...looking forward to reading more.

wow...very erotic and well done...the last two panels makes me think I am seeing double...but its so bizarre it works...the one tentacle in the first frame near the lower part of our female makes it look like she has a...is this intentional?

Aaaaw - we're all grown-ups here. We can take the occasional sexual overtone. (Especially when it's drawn so well!)
