Chapter 6 Page 05

Exposition… had to throw some boobies in there to motivate myself ^_^
Oh, and I hope the conductor pun works in English. I'm not really sure. You tell me. (It had better work though, since I built up to it all the way back on page 9 of chapter 4. That's almost one year ago! Which, I must admit, is pretty short in webcomics time.)
Thanks for reading and commenting!
REPLIES:
DAJB: Thanks for the suggestion, I might change it for the print version.
Zephyrion: Good to know :P
alejkhan: Hmm… She did have legs to begin with. Actually, her leg is the first thing we see of her in her “origin”. Removing her legs now may have to do with connecting her to the bigger apparatus… or maybe they don't want her running away? Man, that all sounds very cruel. (I'm not sure, but your question might be motivated by assuming that this page is partly a flashback, which is not the case - but you might need to see the next page to really be able to make the connection.) And the baker just happens to be able to customize his robots! Everybody can do that in MY universe :P (But maybe that's an interview question too ^_^) Also, not enough nudity in YOUR comics… just lots of bare manly chests :P
Jabali: Words of wisdom :D
Fitz: Glad you appreciate the pun! It's just for you :P Don't worry too much about Sunhra… oh, what am I saying? Of course you should worry!! ;-) As always, I have no idea what you are talking about when you are talking about TV series. Me no watch TV. Also, there's only one thing you can do when missing Lost Highway: Grab your Lost Highway DVD and DO watch it! Nothing worse than having to rely on TV to get your David Lynch fix!
Fitz (#2): See, it's been THAT long since I last watched Twin Peaks T_T Dark City is one of my favorite movies, but Knowing sucks. Don't want to keep you from watching it, but I hope you'll agree with me when you do :P
JNP: Thanks. I wanted it to be a bit trippy… if this was a movie, you'd cut from Ed in the car to the close-up of Sunhra, with some foreboding music, then back to them entering the lobby, and then you'd probably have this slow pan from Sunhra's head to the machine she's attached to while Mrs Wong's speech continues. So you wouldn't immediately have a sense of where Sunhra is, and that might evoke the “flashbacky feel”. As a movie, it would continue with the door to the music hall opening and you'd suddenly see that Sunhra is IN IT. That's what (hopefully) the next page does :P
Nepath, Peipei, mmm bacon0: Thanks!

Yeah the page has a very flashbcky feel to it. Yes flashbacky is a word!!! Really good layout though. I do agree with DAJB a bit on that last balloon.

What series COULD I BE talking about? Twin Peaks. Duuuh! :) Watching re-runs on tv on Sundays :D As for my "To Watch" DVD list is growing and growing - but Lost Highway is a must-see, no doubt. I also want to see "Knowing", of which I only saw the first half. I know, it's such a rip-off of The Mothman Prophecies - but it's an Alex Proyas flick, and I love that guy's imagination. Dark City, oh yes! :)

The conductor pun was brilliant. But seing Sunhra acting as the conductor is unsettling, to say the least. Not even the boobies can soothe me ;) Oh and an Asian woman taking over the factory after a man's death reminds me of a certain tv series... Speaking of which, you should really check out Bright Falls (6 mini-episodes inspired by the xbox game Alan Wake) and Happy Town. Wonderfully creepy, lynchian stuff. Speaking of whom, I missed The Lost Highway on tv again yesterday! Ack!
Jabali at 12:08PM, May 27, 2010
Boobs are awesome, indeed.
alejkhan at 10:23AM, May 27, 2010
Hmm, now I wonder: at what point did she get some legs? And what kind of baker is a super scientist/engineer? What the heck is up with this world of yours!? I totally understand about the needing motivational nakedness. :D
Zephyrion at 9:03AM, May 27, 2010
Yeah it works.
DAJB at 11:38PM, May 26, 2010
Small suggestion: I think the final balloon should be positioned lower down (just so that it's lower than the preceding one). It disrupts the flow a little where it is at the moment. Otherwise, gorgeous page!
